staying in asheville

so, i liked Asheville so much i stayed a bit longer.
I stuck around on Saturday to get my grading done and hang out some more.
Then I stuck around on Sunday to let my knee rest again. Totally worth it (I mean, it still hurts, but not as much as it would have).
Eric and I worked on minimizing my pack. Here's what I left with him:
-handlebar bag (wasn't ever going to use this thing. it affects my steering too much)
-solar charger (stupid cheap chinese ebay purchase wouldn't even charge my phone)
-chamois butter (doing just fine without it. in fact, i think it's gross)
-essential oil pain spray (this is what the nice lady at the store gave me, and I'll use it later, but not now. sorry.)
-hair trimmer (who cares)
-toothpaste (i'm using my tea tree bronners instead)
-tent stakes (too heavy. sticks work.)
-cotton underwear (it was ridiculous to bring these anyway)
-third pair of cycling shorts (the padding is too thin/cheap for this trip. I can get by with two with a daily wash)

This reminds me: I haven't done the 'bike' or 'gear' posts yet. maybe when things get more boring...

While I was at Eric's I also did a thorough chain washing. now it's magnificent.

Oh, and we drove to Charlotte, NC and Eric bought some Zipp wheels for his triathalon bike. pretty awesome. super light and aero. he just bought a great Cervelo tri bike that's now pretty much perfect.

then I left Asheville today (Monday).
